Frequently Asked Questions About Branding
Find answers about logo design, brand strategy, pricing, timelines, and using your finished brand.
What is included in a branding project?
The scope can include brand strategy, positioning, messaging, logo design, colour and typography, brand guidelines, and selected applications. Your proposal lists the exact deliverables, file formats, revision rounds, and exclusions so you know what you are approving.
How do we get started?
Send a short overview of your business, the challenge with your current brand, and any target launch date. I will review your goals and recommend the next step, then prepare a scope and quote for the agreed work.
What is the difference between a logo and a brand?
A logo is one part of your visual identity. A brand also includes your positioning, message, personality, and how the business looks and feels across its touchpoints. A coordinated system makes those parts work together.
Can you refresh my existing brand?
Yes. A refresh can improve an existing identity while preserving recognizable elements. A more extensive rebrand may be appropriate when your audience, offer, or direction has changed. We assess what to keep and what needs to evolve before designing.
Can you help apply the brand after launch?
Brand applications can be scoped alongside the identity or as a later phase. These may include business stationery, presentations, social templates, packaging, signage, and other priority materials. Production, printing, and ongoing support are confirmed separately.
How long does a branding project take?
Timing depends on the scope, research, number of applications, and speed of feedback. A focused identity project is different from a full rebrand. Your proposal will include milestones and a realistic schedule before work begins.
How much do branding services cost?
Branding is quoted by scope. Strategy and research, identity development, revisions, and rollout materials all affect the fee. Share your goals and budget range so I can recommend an appropriate scope. Fees and payment milestones are confirmed in the proposal.
How are feedback and revisions handled?
Brand Identity and Strategy + Identity each include three revision rounds. Share consolidated feedback at each round so we can refine the work efficiently. Any additional changes are quoted separately.
What should I prepare before we begin?
Bring your business goals, audience information, existing brand files, competitor examples, and any materials that show how the brand is used today. A rough brief is enough to start the conversation. I will help identify what else is needed.
Will I receive editable files and usage rights?
Your proposal identifies the final deliverables, editable or source files, and usage rights included in the project. Font, photography, and other third-party licences may have separate terms. We confirm these details before the project starts.
Will the identity work in print and digital?
The identity is developed for the applications agreed in your scope. This can include logo variations for different sizes and backgrounds, print and digital colour values, and export files for your team and suppliers.
Do you only work with Toronto businesses?
I work with businesses across Toronto and the GTA, and can collaborate remotely with clients elsewhere. The process combines clear briefs, scheduled reviews, and organised feedback so the project can move forward wherever your team is based.
Can we meet in person in Toronto?
I am based in North York, with in-person meetings available for Toronto and GTA clients. We can discuss whether an in-person or online meeting is the most practical way to begin.
How do I choose a branding designer?
Look for relevant identity work, a clear strategy and design process, and a proposal that explains deliverables, revisions, files, and rights. Ask the designer to explain the thinking behind the work and how the identity will be applied in your business.
